An Interview with a Teenager Part1

Meditation and Yoga is a very crucial part of my life and its been long that I have not talked about it on my blog.
I was introduced to it when I was a young girl of 17, since then I have made it a point to meditate every single day.
My younger sister was introduced to it at a much younger age and practices it as well, hence I thought that it would be a great idea to see yoga and meditation from the eyes of a young Indian teenager. Our talks extend to politics, culture, religion, spirituality. I think  interviewing her and knowing her point of view really amazed me and opened my mind to new possibilities, here it goes.

I remember, you were introduced to spirituality at a very young age, when you were like 12 years old. what thing popped into your mind when you heard the word meditation?

The first thing that popped in my head was "It is going to be boring" , it is not something for children. it is something for the adults. It is something for old people, not for the young ones.
It is for people who go to the temple daily, like my grandmother.

What actually happened to you when you did your meditation for the first time?

Actually, nothing happened to me when I first did the meditation. Nothing much happened during the process but I realized that after doing the meditation, my state of mind was pretty much changed, it became very calm. The process was very boring but after the process I realized that there was a lot of change in me, in my attitude. There was a change in me for a while.

ok, how long was that while?

about 12 to 13 hours. After that you need to get yourself recharged again. That is why Meditation is very much essential to be performed daily and very much important to be done in today's competitive and challenging word.
weather it is a young child or a teenager or a adult, it is very much important to perform meditation because it is the only refuge one can take.

What problems do you face as a Indian teenager and student, and how did meditation helped you to overcome such problems that you face in your daily life.

Well being a "Indian teenage girl", it is quite difficult. Girls are never told about what is going to happen to them when they are going to turn 11 or 12 or 13.
Puberty was a difficult situation for me and not much initiative was taken by my mother or my teachers to help me through it. My aunt and my elder sister helped me to a bit but the way society views you, changes in a swish. That was a stressful condition for me. Meditation helped me a lot.
I was a very introvert girl during my teenage,It helped me to be more confident. I started talking to people, I gathered some courage and more than anything else it gave me peace which is the biggest need of a teenager.
According to me these Meditation classes should  be given to the teenagers.Teenage is such a confused and vulnerable stage, rare do parents and teachers take the initiative to make them understand things.Meditation helped me, I think it is going to help others as well.

Do you think there is a change in state of mind after Mediation? like, from annoyed to excited and interested , from sad to happy and Hopeful?

for me, it has always turned out to be peaceful. excitement can also be bad sometimes. when you are peaceful you can carry out things perfectly.Meditation gives you energy in perfect balance.

Rest of the interview will be carried out in my next blog.

A Albert Einstein letter to his daughter

I think this one is worth reading. Although I am a young girl still figuring out my way and still battling with my struggles.
I have always believed that love has the power to transcend every problem ,every conflict and every pain
I highly recommend the movie "intersteller" to actually feel that, I bet you the movie will move you to tears, well for now you can read this letter by the well known scientist of his times, Albert Einstein's letter to his daughter. This man was way beyond ahead of his times, more than I ever thought.

take a Read

A letter from Albert Einstein to his daughter:
In the late 1980s, Lieserl, the daughter of the famous genius, donated 1,400 letters, written by Einstein, to the Hebrew University, with orders not to publish their contents until two decades after his death. This is one of them, for Lieserl Einstein.
"When I proposed the theory of relativity, very few understood me, and what I will reveal now to transmit to mankind will also collide with the misunderstanding and prejudice in the world.
I ask you to guard the letters as long as necessary, years, decades, until society is advanced enough to accept what I will explain below.
There is an extremely powerful force that, so far, science has not found a formal explanation to. It is a force that includes and governs all others, and is even behind any phenomenon operating in the universe and has not yet been identified by us. This universal force is LOVE.
When scientists looked for a unified theory of the universe they forgot the most powerful unseen force. Love is Light, that enlightens those who give and receive it. Love is gravity, because it makes some people feel attracted to others. Love is power, because it multiplies the best we have, and allows humanity not to be extinguished in their blind selfishness.
Love unfolds and reveals. For love we live and die. Love is God and God is Love.
This force explains everything and gives meaning to life. This is the variable that we have ignored for too long, maybe because we are afraid of love because it is the only energy in the universe that man has not learned to drive at will.
To give visibility to love, I made a simple substitution in my most famous equation. If instead of E = mc2, we accept that the energy to heal the world can be obtained through love multiplied by the speed of light squared, we arrive at the conclusion that love is the most powerful force there is, because it has no limits.
After the failure of humanity in the use and control of the other forces of the universe that have turned against us, it is urgent that we nourish ourselves with another kind of energy…
If we want our species to survive, if we are to find meaning in life, if we want to save the world and every sentient being that inhabits it, love is the one and only answer.
Perhaps we are not yet ready to make a bomb of love, a device powerful enough to entirely destroy the hate, selfishness and greed that devastate the planet.
However, each individual carries within them a small but powerful generator of love whose energy is waiting to be released.
When we learn to give and receive this universal energy, dear Lieserl, we will have affirmed that love conquers all, is able to transcend everything and anything, because love is the quintessence of life.
I deeply regret not having been able to express what is in my heart, which has quietly beaten for you all my life. Maybe it's too late to apologize, but as time is relative, I need to tell you that I love you and thanks to you I have reached the ultimate answer!"
Your father,
Albert Einstein

My pain will be my glory

My struggles will my write my stories
My pain will be my glory
for all those thinking that life is unfair
for all those thinking their hard-work is vain
their blood and sweat will be their allegory
my struggles will write my stories

So shoot oo shoot with your killing words
I dont pay attention to those who flock like herds
and make me break when I am exhausted and tired
but you will not be able to break my spirit burning like fire
you can not haunt me in my memory
my struggles will write my stories
my pain will be my glory

So don't think that I may give up when I fear
and don't see the weakness in my cries and tears
because they are the one who push me ahead
because they are the one who don't make me mislead
don't you think that success is your territory
because my struggles are coming to write my stories
my pain will be my glory.
